- Circle: The set of all points in a plane that are the same distance from a given point.
- Center: The set of all points that are the same distance from a given point.
- Arc: A part of a circle.
- Radius: A segment whose endpoints are the center and any point on a given circle.
- Chord: A segment whose endpoints are both on a given circle.
- Diameter: Any chord that passes through the center of a circle.
- Circumference: The distance around a circle.
- Sector: A part of a circle that is enclosed by two radius and an arc.(smaller area is known as "minor sector", larger area is known as "major sector").
- Minor segment: the smallest portion of a circle when chord divides the circle into 2 parts
- Major segment: the largest portion of a circle when chord divides the circle into 2 parts.
- Tangent: a straight line that touches the circle only at one point.
